Uttarakhand Defence Academy Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT)

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. It is a national-level exam conducted by the Indian Air Force to select eligible candidates as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty for both Technical and Non-Technical branches. The IAF conducts AFCAT twice a year as AFCAT 1 and 2.

AFCAT 2026 notification has been released, and registrations for AFCAT 01/2026 are open from 17 November 2025 to 14 December 2025. The exam will be held on 31 January 2026. This exam recruits Class 1 Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties, covering both Technical and Non-Technical branches.

UTTARAKHAND DEFENCE ACADEMY AFCAT Eligibility

Nationality: The candidate opting to apply for the exam must be a citizen of India as per the Indian citizenship act, 1955.
Marital Status: Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course. Widows, widowers, and divorcees (with or without children) below 25 years of age are also eligible to apply for AFCAT 2026. Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible; however, they will not be permitted to live with family during training.
Educational Qualification: All candidates applying for AFCAT 2026 must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. The educational qualification criteria vary according to the branch applied for, such as Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. AFCAT Education Qualifications

In order to qualify for the Ground Duty Non-Technical branch in the Indian Air Force through AFCAT, applicants must satisfy specific educational requirements. The following are the AFCAT Exam eligibility criteria for Non-Technical Branch:
